A rate adjustment may be available for filling a swimming pool if a customer qualifies. The adjustment will be in the form of a sewer credit based on the number of gallons of water used to fill the pool and will be applied to the next billing cycle.

UTILITY SHUT OFF DUE TO NON-PAYMENT:
Customers with a past-due utility bill will receive a letter in the mail giving them ten (10) days to report to the Village Office when they will pay; pay in full in person; or in a dispute show proof of payment. After the ten (10) business days, the utilities will be shut off without further notice. If your water is shut off there will be an additional $50.00 charge for turning the water back on. Water will not be turned back on after 2:30 pm or on weekends.
PARKING ON THE VILLAGE STREETS:
On-street parking is typically designated to be on the east side or north side of most streets in the village. Certain streets have other posted restrictions. Parking spaces are on a first-come basis. Some spaces are designated for those who have state-issued handicapped placards or tags. Residents are asked to be considerate of their neighbors’ parking needs, and when possible use parking in the rear of their lot off their alley.
All street parking is prohibited in the event of a snow fall event greater than two inches in depth, until the streets can be plowed and cleared. Please have an alternate location to park your vehicle(s) for such snow events. Many times the workers will only spread salt in the intersections for ice or lesser snow amount events.
REFUSE / TRASH AND RECYCLING:
Solid waste is picked up every Tuesday. Shackleford is the company we are contracted with. They will pick up anything that one person can pick up by themselves. Upholstered furniture and bed mattresses must be wrapped and sealed in plastic to control the spread of bedbugs. Appliances or televisions must be disposed through another source. Your bill for this service is included in your monthly utility bill.
Any problem with Shackleford’s service should be reported to them at (740) 366-0001.
A household recycling drop off trailer is located behind the Bremen-Rushcreek fire station. It is operated by the Fairfield County Community Action agency.
